In Genoese dialect, demua means to have fun, to unwind, or to spend time pleasantly.

From this idea, the new line of pipes by artist Danilo Zunino, formerly known as Gheppo Pipe, was born, in collaboration with artisans and the pipe academy.

Danilo Zunino begins with briar, selecting and seasoning the finest briar to then design refined, intriguing shapes with well-balanced dimensions.

Thus, Demua was born: high-quality pipes, perfect for every day and faithful companions for moments of relaxation.

Demua pipes are the result of his special knowledge of briar and a perfected construction technique.

A student and woodworker of Romeo "Mimmo" Domenico, he produces pipes with aesthetics and shapes inspired by the works of master Ingo Garbe, while also embracing revisited, more classic forms.

With his understanding of briar cutting, Danilo is able to utilize the grain in a way shared only by Mimmo Romeo and a few other artist pipemakers.

All Danilo pipes are natural, treated, or colored with natural elements, and the polished briar pipes are flawless and colorless, extremely lightweight.

The beauty of the natural grain and color of the briar is visible in each of his pipes.

The classic shapes—Volcano, Pot, Billiard, Tomato, Panel, Dublin, and Brandy—are carved from perfect briar, with a refined technique that is always attentive to the proper functioning of the tobacco pipe.

Starting from a profound knowledge of the raw material, briar, even the size of the combustion chamber, the inclination of the shank, and the thickness of the pipe's walls are designed for the proper functioning of the tobacco pipe.
