It is a filter system based on the properties of balsa wood.

Savinelli's balsa filter solves the problem of removing tar and moisture from smoke without altering the fragrance of fine pipe tobacco.

The balsa filter absorbs, naturally and without additives or chemicals, the moisture and annoying drizzle that builds up inside the pipe shank.

Savinelli's balsa filter also ensures less fouling and therefore greater cleanliness.

This absorption power comes from the numerous porous fibers of the balsa wood, which guarantee a perfect smoke without altering the fragrance and aroma of the tobacco.

This patented Savinelli filter system has been tested by both the EURATOM Research Center in Ispra (VA) and the CHEMICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY Inc. research center in the United States, with approximately the same result: "...

The balsa filter is extremely simple to use.

We recommend replacing it every two or three smokes, or whenever you clean the pipe. Never store the pipe with a used filter inserted for more than a day.

For proper pipe performance even without a filter, we recommend using the adapter (included).
