RUM Demerara 1975 Cadenhead's Green Label 33 y.o. distilled in Guyana, then aged for 33 years in Scotland where in October 2008 he was then bottled.

Rum in question comes from the Demerara area, as I have said in other reviews (including the latest on 37yo bottled by Silver Seal) is a proponent of some of the greatest expressions of the world of this noble Caribbean distillate.

Cadenhead's, active since 1842 in Scotland, bordering one of the oldest and largest reality as regards the brokerage and independent bottler.

The company, in fact, possesses the most ancient and vast stocks of rinvenibili Caribbean rum on the market and, in addition to market them to the various independent bottlers, sometimes decides to take a few blows on his own, producing a varied and interesting range of products. Known more for its single malt (sometimes truly sumptuous), it seemed appropriate to emphasize that its size is also important in the context of Rum.

What we are discussing today is the most mature that I've ever found in the current range.

In fact it is a rather rare bottling, released in 2008 with 33 years of aging.

From my information, it would appear that there has been no addition of caramel.

The only operation performed was the reduction of the volume of alcohol to bring it to a gradation "standard" of 40.6%.

It is not specified the origin of the distillery and the still used, however, from the tasting reminds me of a Port Mourant. One of my favorite rum.

It will also be because the RUM Demerara 1975 Cadenhead's Green Label 33 y.o. distilled in Guyana, then aged for 33 years in Scotland where it is then bottled in October 2008, it pairs well with incredibilmete Arturo Fuente Opus X or Hoyo de Monterey epicure, for some unforgettable moments.

However, the Rum in question is sold in an elegant box, under the label Green Label, also of ancient origins, as the house that was selected and bottled.

The label contains all the data of the precious bottle of 33 years of this limited production, now running that can not miss in the rum top of the world collection.

Tasting notes:

Appearance: Golden Amber with red ruby hue, it almost seems a nice Aged Tawny Port

Nose: At first, the sense of smell is flooded with a strong hint of dark ciccolata, toasted nuts such as walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts, but also a hint of red fruits (mostly cherries). It takes patience, letting it rest a few minutes later it opens with spicy notes of cinnamon and cardamonio and expands vigorously with a caramelized sugar notes and molasses. Continuing, leather delicate notes blend together in a delicate woody scent and totally non-invasive. No shortage ripe bananas and figs to crown a smell very complex and very intriguing! Delicious!

Palate: Massive presence of cocoa, followed by toasted nuts such as olfaction: return of walnuts and hazelnuts. Almonds seem to disappear, but they are equally present. Lightweight body, is extremely easy to drink and does not prove your age to the palate: it is quite fresh and lively, with very present notes of liquorice, aniseed a tip that gives it a touch herbaceous but also an elegant woody scent. In truth, the nose offers something more, while remaining a Rum more than interesting. I think a few degrees more, however, would have helped. To underline that at times recalls a brandy or, more precisely, a Cognac!

Finale: Middle-Short, but very elegant with pleasant cinnamon chocolate that melts again.
