Demerara Distillers Very Rare Enmore And Port Mourant 1998 Vol. 62,2% Cl. 70

Demerara Distillers Ltd, the only producer of Demerara rum and owner of the largest stock in the world of old rum. To celebrate the event, Yesu Persaud, chairman of Demerara Distillers, has allowed us to select some barrels jealously guarded in the "Paradis" of the company: we were able to fulfill a dream coming into possession of the oldest barrel present in warehouses.

This is an experimental rum, namely a fusion of Enmore and Port Mourant done at birth, that is to say before filling the barrels.

3 sun barrels to be precise, as a specific experimental Luca Gargano.

Distilled in 1998 is bottled, after the biggest loss of 75% of the product is bottled full proof in 2014 in just 848 bottles.

E 'was aged under the tropics, as usual. The sun and the heat of the tropics, elements that have gained the Demerara, transformed embellished.

Color: very dark amber. Nose: powerful, full of balsamic caramel, toasted oak, cake, mocha, dried figs and bananas, coffee beans ... and a hint of peat.

In a sense, it is rather delicate, despite the lethal force of 62.2 degrees alcohol

It can be combined with cigars as powerful as Bike Cohiba.

Mouth (neat): heavier, fatter, extremely concentrated, with a bit of mountain pine, bitter orange, licorice (bags) and polished wood.

Finish: long, minty, rich, honey.
