Glenfiddich, which in Gaelic means Valley of the Deer, is the name that William Grant gave to his distillery back in 1886.
Helped by his large family, in an effort to make his dream of opening a distillery come true, William Grant physically built it in Dufftown, stone by stone, in just one year and, despite having passed around 130 years, this determination and this passion is still breathed today.
For the production of its single malts, the distillery uses a careful selection of malted barley to which water from the Robbie Dhu spring heated to 64 degrees is added.
From this mash begins the process of extracting all the sugars that will be transformed into alcohol during fermentation.
Glenfiddich is one of the few still family-run distilleries and its Single Malt Scotch Whiskey is among the most awarded in the world.
The Single Malt Scotch Whiskey aged 15 years, is a unique and special distillate, made so thanks to the production technique introduced by the fifth Master Maltatore and which is still handed down today, testifying to the validity and awareness of the Grant family's traditions.
Aged first in new French and American oak barrels, it will then be left to rest in a Solera vat, so as to further soften its character.
One of the 15 most drunk single malts in the world.
