After an increase in production in 2008 Glenglassaugh distillery amazes with a different whiskeys from the usual style of the Highlands.
Torfa, in ancient Gaelic, is the word that identifies the peat and it Glenglassaugh took inspiration.
But Glenglassaugh beside the peat has placed the excellent former bourbon casks that refine the aromas and flavors of the whiskey Glenglassaugh Torfa.
Glenglassaugh Torfa, with its peaty nature, phenolic, is a particular expression than normal Highland style.
Bottled at 50%, unfiltered cold and without addition of flavorings or colorings, keeps its purity and its explosive notes of torbatura sweetened by honey of former bourbon barrels.
Tasting notes:
Color: sparkling golden yellow.
Aroma: Vivid. Sweet, sooty smoke, sea air. lemon zest, apricot jam and ripe red fruits. Hint of ginger and black pepper.
Palate: Eloquent peat smoke. Candied peel, melon, pineapple and cooked red apples. oatmeal cookies, heather honey and cigar box.
Finale: Inebriane and harmonious. Marine. spicy fruit.
Suitable for combination with Cuban cigars, Habanos such Fonseca or interesting Partagas Aristocrat.
