The Benrinnes 21 years is a limited edition of 2014, distilled in 1992, this single malt is aged in European oak casks former Bodega.
The single malt whiskey Benrinnes 21 years was bottled in 2014 in just 2892 bottles.
Benrinnes the distillery was built in 1826 in the Banffshire area and over the years has been rebuilt several times until 1922 when it was acquired by John Dewars & Son.
The Benrinnes distillery has had over the years a very particular production, in 1956 the old malting floor was replaced by saladin box, then removed, while in 1974 the distillery passed to the "triple distillation and partial" method.
The "triple distillation and partial" system is a very particular distillation method.
In the "triple distillation and partial" the tail and low wines produced from the second distillation are distilled again in the second distiller.
This process, besides the fact that the Benrinnes is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that still uses the spiral tubes to cool the spirit in the stills, make it one of the most special whiskey in Scotland.
The process of "partial triple distillation" has been ceased in the early 2000s, but the Benrinnes 21 years single malt was distilled in 1992 and then again with the old method!
A rarity for collectors and lovers of single malt whiskey extremes.
