Nikka, Super Nikka Vol. 43% Cl. 70

The first edition of the Japanese Super Nikka Whisky was mixed by the founder of Nikka Distillery, Masataka Taketsuru and launched in 1962.
It 'was a tribute to Rita, the Scottish wife of Mr. Masataka, who supported her husband's dream of founding a distillery and create excellent whiskey, and disappeared in 1961.
Masataka overcome the sadness after his death he devoted himself heart and soul into the creation of this whiskey.
Current Nikka blend master tasted the original Super Nikka Whisky by an old bottle in the existing distillery and be amazed by the scents, flavors have decided to revive this extraordinary whiskey in a limited edition in 2015.
The Super Nikka Whisky was launched in 1962 by immediately hit thanks to its particular taste, given by the high percentage of malted barley and its robustness, obtained by aging in barrels that previously contained sherry.
Replicate the flavor profile of the original 1962 Super Nikka has not been easy.
Rarity, authenticity and attention to quality remain the cornerstones of the famous distillery, and are interpreted in the new super Nikka whiskey.

Tasting notes:
The ideal glass for tasting this wonder is the tulip, which, thanks to the opening narrower than the upper body, is able to concentrate the aromas in a limited area, so as not to lose even a nuance.
deep amber color with mahogany hues, the nose has rich aromas and tasty quince and ripe pear, along with spicy notes of vanilla and cloves and chocolate puffs. The taste is smooth, balanced and round, with all the elements in perfect harmony with each other, towards a long and pleasant caramel and slightly smoky tones.
Combine with Cohiba cigars and taste slowly.
