The grappas of Lidia and Romano Levi are collectible grappas and this 2004 bottle of straw-colored grappa was handcrafted by Romano personally and was part of the Griva collection.

When it comes to grappas, it is often wrong to think only of Romano.

They should be called GRAPPE DI LIDIA E ROMANO LEVI, both because the distillery was the undivided inheritance of the brothers, and because Lidia, on the first floor of the house where she had isolated herself leading an almost monastic life, selected and made the very rare bottles of herbal grappa .

Lidia was Romano's elder sister, an exceptional woman, protective, severe and guarded; Romano speaks of her in an interview:

".... for me it helped a lot (her presence) because certainly I would not be here at this point ... yes she is strict with me too and therefore she has been very useful in my work. She also works to make herbs which are works of art in bottles. For me it was very useful. "

But it is to Romano that we owe the great fame gained by his bottles of grappa for the handwritten labels and then enriched with poetic phrases or naive drawings, those little masterpieces that today we define as "WILD ART".

The distillery was built by Serafino Levi and was equipped, then as now, with a direct-fire still, as we learn from one of the rare interviews released by his son Romano in 1991, where few expert craftsmen work, defined by Romano himself as "unaware" ... because unaware of the danger they run as high-fire stills can explode.

To use a high-heat still requires great skill and skill, but this procedure, perfected by Romano Levi and still rigorously respected today, guarantees the perfect maintenance of all the aromatic components, which are crucial for the organoleptic characteristics of Grappa.

Here we propose a bottle from the historical archive, from the Griva collection, the Levi grappa of the wild woman Paglierina year 2004.

This bottle of grappa with hand drawn label produced by Romano Levi, is a rarity.

The label is a work of art with its colorful bunch of grapes standing out on the brown paper.

The bottle is in excellent condition and is accompanied by an authenticity opinion from the Griva collection, signed in original.

This bottle is a collector's item, we will not be able to entertain refunds or exchanges.

For this straw grappa from the Levi Serafino distillery from 2004, the pomace of Nebbiolo da Barbaresco DOCG, Dolcetto d’Alba DOC and Barbera d’Alba DOC are used.

The Paglierina grappa of the Selavtica woman then ages for about five years.

Thus was born the straw-colored grappa with a bunch of grapes on the label signed by Romano Levi.

Grappa as a tradition requires 50 degrees!

The 2004 straw-colored grappa of the Serafino Levi Distillery has an indomitable strength that warms the heart and a label that is a work of art!
