In 2017 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Velier, the family business, from perfect master blender Luca Gargano created the couvet Velier Royal Navy rum.
Following his motto "In pot still Veritas" he selected rum barrels from the Caroni, Demerara and Jamaicane distilleries produced over a period of time that goes from 1990 to 2005.
The rums used for the Velier Royal Navy blend are:
Rum from the Caroni distillery, Trinitad, aged in the tropics for more than 20 years.
Rum from the Demerara distillery, Guyana, aged in Europe for more than 15 years.
Rum of Pure single Rums, Jamaica, aged in the tropics for more than 12 years.
The average aging is 17.42 years.
