The Tsuge pipe manufacturing workshop was founded in the 1930s by Kyoichiro Tsuge in Japan.
Thus, a cigarette holder factory was born, becoming what is now Japan's largest and most advanced pipe manufacturer.
Its pipe manufacturing workshops are located in Tokyo and the Asakusa district.
Tsuge Japanese pipes have an undeniably international approach; other Tsuge pipes, with their metal finishes, bamboo accents, and refined lacquering, are more decidedly Japanese.
But what all the models have in common is a consistent, meticulous, and stubborn pursuit of perfection.
Kyoichiro always sought it, and his heirs tenaciously pursue it.
The Tsuge Roulette pipe transforms the idea of a traditional pipe, both in terms of its design and the introduction of a smoke expansion chamber.
The Tsuge Roulette is the forerunner of today's reverse calabash pipes.
The pipe's worked metal base features a hollow space, similar to that found in Calabash pipes.
This hollow space creates an expansion chamber for the smoke.
The expansion chamber can be filled with aromatic tobacco, which doesn't come into contact with the burning tobacco but releases sweet aromas as the smoke passes through.
Either with special stones or left empty, this expansion chamber captures the odor that develops when damp pipe tobacco burns.
The Tsuge Roulette line is the modern Calabash of the twentieth century, produced with cutting-edge materials and technology.
The pipe's mouthpiece is made of a methacrylate part and a metal part that unscrews.
The futuristic design is a marriage of two materials: traditional briar and metal.
The cylindrical bowl is made of natural briar and screws onto the pipe's base.
Each Tsuge Japanese pipe is unique and one-of-a-kind. The exterior finish may vary slightly from the image, as each briar pipe is unique.
The variations are only in the shades of the briar; the dimensions and shape remain unchanged.
