Rum Destino Double maturation by Foursquare comes from a selection by Richard Seale, master distiller of Foursquare, of some 2003 rum barrels that are part of the distillery's reserves.
Two ex Madeira barrels, and the oldest available in the distillery.
The Foursquare Destino Double maturation rum has had a very particular 14-year aging process under the tropical sun.
Rum Foursquare Destino was aged for 12 years in ex Madeira barrels and 2 years in ex Bourbon barrels.
14 years of intense aging.... subsequently bottled at full strength.
A highly coveted limited release because only 2600 bottles were produced.
The Rum Old Barbados Foursquare Destino 2003 Double maturation was born from the meeting between Luca Gargano and Richard Seale and is considered among the best rums in the world.
Tasting Notes:
Color: very dark amber.
Perfumes: explosive bouquet, complex aromas of spices, ginger and nutmeg, and sweet notes of honey, vanilla and caramel, deriving from the wood.
Taste: Very powerful, the sip is full, rich, structured. Long finish on notes of burnt caramel, spices and tea.
Finish: long, minty, rich, honey.
Rum Old Barbados Foursquare Destino 2003 double maturation is to be combined with powerful cigars full of aroma such as Cohiba Piramides or Cohiba Maduro.
