It seems that the Liqueur d’Elixir des Pères Chartreuse “1605” - Chartreuse draws inspiration from an ancient and secret recipe dating back to the early 17th century.
The recipe, kept secret, contains 130 herbs that are macerated in quality alcohol and subsequently distilled.
It is then aged in oak barrels in the suggestive cellars of Voiron.
This liqueur was created in 2005 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the manuscript
A special liqueur obtained directly from the Elixir Végétal Chartreuse to commemorate the delivery by Marshal d'Estrées of the manuscript containing the basic formula of the elixir to the Carthusian fathers of Vauvert in Paris in 1605.
Liqueur d’Elixir Chartreuse 1605 is unique and different from any other liqueur, it can be tasted on its own.
