Longrow single malt whiskey is a particular production of Springbank that takes its name from a closed Campbeltown distillery.

The Longrow distillery is famous for the double distillation of its whiskeys but above all it is famous for its highly peated single malts.
The 18-year-old Longrow single malt whiskey is aged in oak barrels and is highly peated.
Springbank normally brings out the Longrow in a nice NAS version (the Longrow Peated), accompanied each year by limited editions.
Longrow single malt whiskey 18 years is one of these limited editions.
The Longrow, after the double distillation, rests 48 on the peat in order to acquire its smoky characteristic.
This last batch of 18 years was bottled in 2019 at full grade, 46 degrees, and was aged in a mix of American oak barrels.
As always, Springbank does not color or filter, and the eye appears rather clear.

Tasting notes:
Color: Amber
Aroma: Complex with notes of fruit, peaches, orange peel intertwined with notes of earthy peat, moist leaves and oat flakes
Taste: Rich and balanced, spicy with notes of orange peel, pepper, dark chocolate and hints of honey
Finale: Long, sweet and spicy with a hint of peat smoke combined with chocolate and dried fruit
So let's recap: peat, sherry and rum, in a mix aged for over 18 years in Scotland and a limited edition always very sought after.
The 18-year-old single malt can be combined with an excellent Siglo I from Cohiba.
