Hazelburn Oloroso Sherry wood 15 years is a particular production of Springbank which takes its name from a closed Campbeltown distillery.

The Hazelburn Distillery is famous for triple distilling its smooth, full bodied and round whiskies.

The distillery was active between 1825 and 1925 and is now produced by Springbank.

Hazelburn single malt whiskey 15 years is aged in oak casks that previously contained oloroso sherry.

This last 15 year old batch distilled in 2006 was bottled in 2022 at full proof, 54.2 degrees, and was aged exclusively in casks that have previously held Oloroso sherry.

As always, Springbank does not color or filter, and appears quite dark to the eye.

Tasting notes:

Color: Dark, very dense.

Aroma: Complex with notes of red fruit, orange peel intertwined with notes of hazelnuts and caramel.

Taste: Rich and balanced, spicy with notes of orange peel, dark chocolate and hints of cooked pears.

Finish: Long, sweet and spicy with a hint of candied fruit combined with chocolate and dried fruit
