A pipe with a particular shape, the Pear/acorn, and with perfect and ultra-seasoned briar, the "old Fashioned" series
Francesco Ganci is a young Genoese craftsman who produces high-quality tobacco pipes.
He began carving pipes relatively late, but today he is one of the most highly rated emerging Italian manufacturers of briar pipes and at the height of success.
Francesco Ganci has had important teachers, including his friend Mimmo Romeo.
The reason for his success is due to his ability to masterfully handle tools, chisels and knives, his pragmatism, his imagination and his continuous search for quality.
In complete solitude, drawing inspiration from nature or the surrounding world, in the luthier's workshop, he thinks and creates his new pipes... true works of art.
And this pipe comes from the briar discovered abandoned in a pipe manufacturing workshop of a Genoese artist, which is why it is marked "old fashioned"
The pear-shaped pipe or also called "acorn", closely resembles the Dublin pipe.
They are therefore often confused even if they are not strictly identical.
Both have a conical/flared firebox that is wider at the top than at the bottom.
The only difference between these two silhouettes is that the pear pipe has rounded corners and therefore much softer edges than the classic Dublin.
In addition to this brazier, the pear pipe is also characterized by an elegant curved line, very pleasant to hold in the hand.
Starting from the technical part, to which Francesco gives a lot of importance, to have a consistently pleasant smoke, F. Ganci creates pipes respecting the grain and design of the briar.
Here he wanted to enhance the grain of the briar, clearly visible, which wraps around the acorn-shaped chimney.
Before producing and marketing a pipe, Francesco Ganci, with the experience of a luthier, tastes the softness and flexibility of the briar, then as a great passionate smoker he tests the shape, the handling, the lines, the angles, the dimensions, the balance of the tobacco pipe.
The briar of this Pear/Acorn shaped pipe is part of the Old Fashioned selection, dedicated to seasoned and very light briars found in an old tobacco pipe laboratory on the Ligurian Riviera and which Francesco Ganci has sculpted with passion.
This old fashioned series pipe with a slightly cutty Pear/acorn shape by Francesco Ganci is a pipe with classic shapes with a timeless charm and very light.
The result is exceptional pipes, perfect technically and qualitatively, very light and elegant pipes.
Wonderful pipes considered among the best in the world but to be used every day.
Tobacco pipes with classic shapes characterized by Francesco Ganci's personal genuine vision of elegance.
Ganci has left a contrasting mouthpiece in cumberland, very worked and with threadlike lines.
The straight lines of the mouthpiece are in contrast with the curved lines of the stem and the bowl.
This makes the pipe very elegant, unusual, a sculpture pipe, a masterpiece, suitable to be shown off at social events.
Each Ganci pipe is a unique piece and the photos you see portray this exclusive pipe, the same, once purchased, will be removed from the catalog.
