2022 edition of a series of annual releases of the famous Springbank Local Barley single malt.

Springbank Local Barley single malt is distilled from locally produced barley in the Campbeltown area, Belgravia type.

The barley is grown on the Kintyre Peninsula on a nearby Glencraigs farm and harvested at peak ripeness.

Springbank Local Barley is the rarest whiskey from the Campbeltown distillery.

The barley from the local farm, after a traditional malting on the floor, is carefully distilled with Pot Still stills and subsequently placed in barrels.

The Springbank has now become a cult distillery among enthusiasts who are conquered by its unique taste and by the distillery itself, rustic, chaotic and traditional but well-finished and of great quality.

The perfect introduction to the Springbank Distillery's high-end single malt range, this 11 year Local Barley whiskey is complex and its key factor is the perfect balance between the casks used for ageing.

Aged for 11 years, it is a blend of 70% ex bourbon barrels and 30% ex sherry barrels.

It was produced in 15,000 bottles at the natural grade of 55.1%.

Aroma: The nose of this local Barley is constantly evolving, and is always exquisite... Choose your favorite dessert: vanilla ice cream with caramel cream, Pecan nut cake or creme caramel.

Also present biscuits with custard, honeycomb and chocolate. There is no lack of characteristic smoky notes of Springbank.

Palate: The whiskey has a delicate, floral quality, made of lemongrass and citrus tea. There is also a sweetness of almonds and marzipan, balanced by a note of peat.

Finish: This whiskey is acknowledged to have matured in traditional dunnage cellars, with a soft, mineral, earthy finish. After a while, salted caramel and spicy notes of cinnamon bread with a dash of honey are felt.
