Hazelburn 21 years is a particular production of Springbank bottled exclusively for the Italian importer Beja - Flor.
The oldest Hazelburn release available from Springbank, at least 21 years old in a mix of ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry and ex-Port casks.
Hazelburn 21 years is therefore a special bottling and a limited edition.
The Hazelburn distillery is famous for triple distilling its smooth, full-bodied and rounded whiskies.
Hazelburn is an ancient distillery in Campbeltwon in Scotland, operational between 1825 and 1925. At its peak the distillery had 22 workers for an annual production of almost 900 thousand liters of whisky. Currently it is the Springbank distillery, also in Campbeltown, that owns the brand that it uses for the production of triple distillation whisky, just like this one that we offer you selected by the Italian distributor Beija Flor.
Springbank is very stingy on triple distilled Hazelburn editions
Hazelburn 21 Years Old is a triple distilled single malt Scotch whiskey aged for at least 21 years in a mix of selected barrels with 80% ex-bourbon American oak barrels, 10% ex-European oak barrels sherry and 10% in European oak ex-Port wine barrels. This whiskey was bottled at 43.2% ABV. without being cold filtered and without adding colorants.
Hazelburn single malt whiskey 21 years is one of these limited editions, produced in only 282 examples.

As always, Springbank does not color or filter, and appears rather dark to the eye.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Dark, very dense.
Aroma: Complex with notes of vanilla, orange peel intertwined with notes of hazelnuts and caramel, honey.
Taste: Rich and balanced, vanilla, spicy with notes of orange peel, dark chocolate and hints of cooked pears.
Finish: Long, sweet and spicy with a hint of candied fruit combined with chocolate and dried fruit.
So let's recap: peat, malt, in a mix aged for over 21 years in Scotland and a limited edition that is always highly sought after.
