Glenfiddich, which in Gaelic means Valley of the Deer, is the name that William Grant gave to his distillery back in 1886.
Helped by his large family, in an effort to make his dream of opening a distillery come true, William Grant physically built it in Dufftown, stone by stone, in just one year and, despite having passed around 130 years, this determination and this passion is still breathed today.
For the production of its single malts, the distillery uses a careful selection of malted barley to which water from the Robbie Dhu spring heated to 64 degrees is added.
From this mash begins the process of extracting all the sugars that will be transformed into alcohol during fermentation.
Glenfiddich is one of the few still family-run distilleries and its Single Malt Scotch Whiskey is among the most awarded in the world.
The Glenfidicch 12 years is distilled in copper stills and aged 12 years in bourbon and sherry oak barrels, it is a soft and fresh whiskey, characterized by intriguing fruity notes and a delicately spicy taste.
