Hombo Shuzo Ltd is an old Japanese liquor company, founded in 1872.
Traditionally they were producers of "shochu", but in 1985 they built the Shinshu Mars Distillery in the village of Miyata, to start producing whiskey and brandy.
The whiskey was sold under the Mars Whiskey brand and quickly became famous.
Unfortunately the question was not large enough and they stopped whiskey production in 1992.
Then, in February 2011, whiskey production was restarted at the Shinshu Mars distillery.
On 6 August 2014, Hombo Shuzo finally launched the first whiskey produced by the reboot, the Mars Whiskey The Revival 2011 Komagatake.
Subsequently, given the success of its Mars whiskey, Shinshu Mars Distillery decided to create a blended whiskey the kasei.
The Kasei Mars is a Blended Whiskey that comes from the mixing of different Single Malt and Grain Whiskey, aged in barrels of different types for different aging periods.
The distillery is very careful in selecting the different original lots, so as to obtain a balanced final product, which can have a soul that, although the result of a cut, is consistent.
The Kasei, after assembly, is left to rest in wood, slowly maturing because of the harsh climate that characterizes the Japanese Alps area.
The "Kasei" Blended Whiskey of the Mars distillery is presented to the eye with a concentrated golden color, with a beautiful brightness.
The bouquet that emanates from the nose is subtle and refined, where honey and yellow-fleshed fruit create a tangle of delicate aromas, in which spicy and smoky cues slip.
In the mouth it is medium-bodied, ample and firm thanks to a crunchy sip, coherent in terms of taste with hints found during the olfactory analysis.
Blended whiskey "Kasei" from the Mars distillery is ideal for spending the quietest evenings, letting yourself be lulled by the balanced sip of a fantastic Japanese whiskey.
