The Glenfarclas distillery was born in the thirties in the verdant Scottish valley of Speyside, the property of which was purchased in 1865 by John Grant and passed down to his descendants making it, to this day, an independent reality much loved by whiskey fans.
Of Glenfarclas the master Murray's in his famous Whiskey Bible writes: "Glenfarclas is one of the best distilled malts in the highlands, you can't die before having tasted a Glenfarclas whiskey at least once!"
Glenfarclas comes from Gaelic and translated means "valley of green grass".
The 40 year old Glenfarclas is a single malt that spends its long maturation period in barrels previously used for the production of Sherry Oloroso which make it wonderfully smooth, but with the depth of flavor.
