Rare bottle of Bruichladdich 2001 ocean wind whiskey, bottled in 2016 by Masam and marketed by Moon Import in 2017 only following manual corrections of the labels and abrasion of the bottom of the bottle.
These corrections, the abrasions to cover the Samaroli brand make these few first Masam bottlings unique pieces ...
This Bruichladdich was distilled in 2001 and left to rest for 15 years in single cask # 92 before being bottled in 2016 under the supervision of the heirs and a year before Silvano's death.
Everyone knows the Bruichladdich distillery, located on Islay, famous for the most peaty whiskey in the world, Octomore, famous for its intense and full-bodied single malts, but they do not know the history of these extraordinary bottles of Maryse Accorsi whiskey selection in Samaroli.
Samaroli is perhaps Italy's most revered independent Scotch whiskey bottler.
With an impeccable taste in single cask whiskeys and an eye for aesthetics (if not English spelling and geography sometimes!).
Considered by many to be a visionary, his selections are among the best whiskeys in the world.
Many of his bottles now occupy well-deserved spaces in the pantheon of whiskey greats.
Since his death in 2017, the tradition has been lovingly continued by Masam, the bottling company run by his wife, Maryse Accorsi Samaroli.
After having ceded the reigns of the Samaroli company to Antonio Bleve in 2008, the heirs began to bottle barrels from their personal collections with this Masam brand.
It will be the death of Silvano Samaroli, in 2017, and the subsequent disagreements and problems born between Bleve, Maryse and Moon import for the management of the Samaroli brand to dictate the abrasions and corrections of these bottles of the first special Masam edition.
As evidence of this we publish a photo of the original and incorrect version.
This bottle came directly from Moon import in January 2017, with supply agreement dated 06/10/2014, and is part of our personal whiskey collection.
Bottle # 079 of 300.
