Rum Sassafras 14 years Double maturation by Foursquare comes from a selection of Richard Seale, master distiller of Foursquare, and the brilliant ideas of Luca Gargano.

Blending of light and heavy rums distilled in the traditional Coffey Still column and in the Copper Double Retort Pot Still by master blender Richard Seale.

A unique Foursquare Sassafras rum with double maturation, aged three years in ex-bourbon and for 11 years in ex-cognac barrels, in a tropical setting at the distillery.

Foursquare Sassafras rum 14 years Double maturation has had a very particular 14 years aging under the tropical sun.

14 years of intense aging .... subsequently bottled at full capacity.

A very coveted limited release because only a few bottles were produced, 6000 bottles as per tradition.

As for the presentation, it comes in the classic matte Velier bottle with the sturdy cardboard case.

The color scheme used for this version is black, white and red.

Remember the bottles of Demerara Diamond and Uitvlugt.

As with most of the Velier versions, the presentation is fairly simple but still striking and focuses on providing the consumer with information about the actual rum rather than the rum review.

Tasting Notes:

Color: orange tending to mahogany.

Perfumes: explosive bouquet, complex aromas of dried fruit, dehydrated grapes, cranberries and pineapples, a fragrance that amazes. Add hints of vanilla and oak resulting from the long aging in cask.

Taste: Powerful the sip is full, rich, structured. 61 degrees a soft strength, you have to leave a moment between one sip and another. Long finish with notes of burnt caramel, tobacco, vanilla and a hint of pepper.
