Forty-degree version of the famous 1972 Montanaro brandy.
Thanks to a lucky combination we came into possession in 2006 of this Brandy distilled by Aurelio Ravetto in Bussoleno in Val di Susa.
The Montanaro distillery was founded in 1885 in Gallo d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, on the initiative of the master of stills Francesco Trussoni, who had the intuition to create the first single-variety grappa in history, giving birth to the grappa of Barolo.
The high grade 1972, coming from local wines with low alcohol content and high acidity, was "forgotten" for more than forty years in the warehouses of the now closed distillery.
The barrels were subsequently purchased by Oscar Farinetti, the dynamic “patron” of Eataly and of the Dr. Mario Montanaro distillery.
The distillate remained to age in oak barrels in the climate of the Val di Susa for over 36 years.
A very balanced, tasty and powerful Brandy that best expresses all its qualities to be combined with powerful Toscani XXL or the Spingarda of the Tuscan cigar consortium.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Intense and bright amber yellow.
Aromas: complex tertiary and spicy scents.
Taste: In the mouth it is balanced, warm and with a long persistence.
