The shape and style of Masimo Damini pipes are a personal freehand interpretation of classic shapes.

Damini is often inspired by Danish pipes with their soft, enveloping shapes and briar designs in evidence.

Massimo Damini is a doctor, passionate pipe smoker, who initially dedicated himself to creating pipes as a hobby, for personal use.

His curiosity and his search for quality push Massimo to contact Gabriele Dal Fiume Pipemaker at a high level.

Damini becomes a pupil of Gabriele and for a long time he studies the shapes and the technique to make high quality pipes.

The strong sense of aesthetics, the maniacal research and perfection in detail, push him to create more and more beautiful and functional pipes.

Few, very few but truly exceptional pipes.

Everything starts from the search for the raw material, only the high quality briar!

Massimo Damini personally selects the briar blocks, which he buys in Liguria from Mimmo Romeo and in Tuscany.

The briar blocks are left to dry in the air in the attic of the house where Massimo periodically checks the seasoning, checking the color and weight.

No block is used before 5 years of aging.

This is why his pipes are very light and the smoke is dry.

All Damini pipes are hand-sculpted and the hole in the brazier and stem are made manually with extreme precision.

The mouthpieces of the pipe are handcrafted from high quality ebonite or cumberland.

Depending on the design of the briar and Massimo Damini creates smooth, explosive pipes, with an artistically classic shape.

Here we have a Cavalier-shaped natural briar pipe, with an almost vertical torch and a horizontal chimney.

The shape is particular, a freehand shape recalls the classic Cavalier shape but stand up.

The shape is slender and decidedly original follows the grain of the briar.

The contrast between the veined briar and the natural horn ring is very nice.

The finish is made with carnauba wax and enhances the quality of the light briar.

Massimo Damini annually produces only 25 maximum 30 briar pipes, all unique pieces.

Each Damini pipe is a unique and unrepeatable piece and the photos you see portray this exclusive pipe, the same, once purchased, will be removed from the catalog.
