Whiskey Balvenie 14 y.o. “The week of peat” is part of the Stories line of the Banffshire distillery and has recently been imported to Italy.
The series encapsulates the history, character and soul of the distillery which is still independent and family owned.
The single malt Balvenie 14 years “The week of peat” is a peaty single malt Scotch whiskey aged in oak barrels and is part of the “The Balvenie stories” range.
The peat comes directly from Speyside when, for just one week a year, Ian Millar, the distillery manager, upsets everything.
In this particular week, only barley with a high peat content is malted at the distillery.
This Balvenie 14 y.o. “The week of peat” is a rarity, it can be considered a limited edition, with a maximum of 300 bottles drawn from a single barrel.
Each bottle of Balvenie 14 y.o. “The week of peat” is hand numbered and labeled with the barrel reference number.
A deliciously creamy Whiskey, notes of caramel and vanilla combine with hints of ginger and cinnamon.
Tasting Notes.
Bouquet: rich aromas of candied fruit and vanilla, light creaminess, with notes of smoke and spices.
Palate: concentrated dried fruit, toasted oak, notes of caramel and vanilla are combined with hints of smoke and spices, pepper.
Finish: the creaminess blends with the smoke.
