Released in 2019, TheMacallan Estate Highland single malt is an intriguing expression that contains whiskey distilled from barley grown on Macallan's Easter Elchies estate.
Hence the name. Growing on the banks of the River Spey, this barley is only distilled over the course of one week a year.
The 485-acre Easter Elchies Estate is located in Scotland's legendary Speyside region, where The Macallan has been making extraordinary single malts since 1824
Whiskey The Macallan Estate was born from the idea of Whiskey Maker Sarah Burgess to create a Single Malt with barley grown on the Easter Elchies estate, which is distilled only once a year over the course of a single week.
It's a pleasantly well-structured Scotch whiskey and comes handsomely presented in a box with a slate inlay, representing the Scottish landscape the distillery calls home.
The Macallan Estate Highland single malt is a new permanent reference to the Macallan range.
The bottle comes in a beautiful gift box reminiscent of stone, a reference to the terroir of the barley farmland owned by Macallan, just next to the historic headquarters, Easter Elchies.
This whiskey is born from the combination of different barrels in hogshead and butt formats of European oak ex-sherry.
A drink that will certainly be appreciated by those who support local agriculture and the differences that the territory makes.
Aged mostly in sherry casks, it offers the classic Macallan style in an incredible way, with dried fruit, raisins, chocolate and spiced ginger reaching the nose and palate.
At the discretion of the Master Distillers, European ex-sherry and American barrels are used, also ex-sherry, ex-bourbon.
A Macallan edition among the softest and most fragrant, with an unparalleled taste.
Moreover, due to its fruity characteristics this single malt is a highly sought after and coveted Macallan whiskey, a real little treasure .... if you can not drink it!
