The new Don Papa Baroko rum edition, to drink or collect for its colorful tube!
Don Papa Rum or The Don, was inspired by the story of one of the celebrated heroes of the Philippine Revolution: Dionisio Magbuelas, better known locally as "Papa" Isio.
Initially a foreman on a sugar plantation, Papa Isio - healer, shaman, seer, rebel, and the leader of a group of babaylanes - played a pivotal role during the late 19th century Philippine Revolution.
Papa Isio's spirit and leadership played a pivotal role in liberating Negros from Spanish rule, ultimately bringing independence to his beloved country.
Don Papa Rum embodies the Papa Isio spirit of independence, irreverence and a sense of justice.
Distilled from some of the finest sugar cane in the world, Don Papa is aged for 7 years in oak barrels at the foot of Mount Kanlaon before being blended to perfection.
Negros Occidental is and always has been the sugar capital of the Philippines.
With the perfect combination of climate, geography and the island’s rich volcanic soil, Negros is ideal for sugar cane production. And where there is sugar, there is rum.
Don Papa Baroko is a premium, artisanally aged Filipino rum.
Don Papa Baroko Rum is unique in three ways:
It is a single-island rum (Negros), made from 100% sugar cane from the island;
It is aged for over 7 years in American oak.
Where there is good rum, you will find Don Papa.....
Tasting Notes:
Color: slightly amber yellow, very bright.
Aromas: the nose opens with an explosion of aromas ranging from vanilla berries to citrus peel, then sweeter tones of mango and coconut, combined with slightly smoky tones of candy and creme brulée.
Taste: Round, rich, warm taste, reminiscent of candied tropical fruit and vanilla cream without ever being cloying because, in the second round, the freshness of lime arrives.
Long and crackling finish from which raisins and dates also emerge, together with an echo of toasted woods.
For consumption, we suggest drinking Don Papa Baroko rum alone or with ice and perhaps accompanied by a good cigar.
