At the discretion of the Master Distillers, European ex-sherry seasoned and American oak barrels are used, also ex-sherry, no ex-bourbon, aging is totally sherry.

When in the 1980s the ex Sherry barrels began to be replaced by oak barrels from the United States, Macallan launched the legendary 18-year-old Sherry Wood series.

Today the fame of Macallan continues to grow also thanks to 25 years of bottling like this one, the result of the assembly of only barrels from Jerez, home of Spanish Sherry.

After a quarter of a century, the vinous notes are merged with the full-bodied distillate that comes out of Macallan stills and reminds us of black fruit, coffee and tobacco.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Antique gold yellow.

Aroma: Delicate notes of Sherry arrive on the nose, with sweet aromas of toffee and banana. There are hints of cherries and citrus fruits.

Taste: Macallan 25 Years Old Sherry wood is dry and spicy at first, then lets emerge notes of fruit, pear, pineapple, citrus, milk chocolate, a riot.
