Hampden Estate Pagos is the first official bottling of the Hampden Estate and Velier partnership of the Gargano family, entirely aged in ex Oloroso sherry casks from the most famous winery in Andalucia.

With Hampden Pagos we wanted to create an amazing rum with character, inspired by the best Macallan whiskeys aged in ex-sherry barrels.

I personally selected a 500-liter barrel ex sherry pedro ximenes Oloroso, to combine the crunchy aromas of Hampden with the balanced sweetness of sherry. "

Hampden, renowned among Jamaican rums for producing spirits with an intense flavor, which are the quintessence of rum in Europe and other parts of the world, pairs perfectly with the cherry and cocoa hints of sherry.

Founded in 1753 in Trelawny, Hampden Estate is one of the oldest sugar cane processing companies in Jamaica and its products are characterized precisely by the total respect for the island's tradition.

Hampden still uses only copper stills today, so all rums are produced with 100% pot-still distillation and, as in the best Jamaican tradition, fermentation takes place for quite a long time with natural yeasts.

This guarantees the development of intense and unique aromas.

The Hampden Estate produces high quality typically Jamaican rums and supplies rums to Luca Gargano for Habitation Velier, among other things.

Made in Trelawny, Jamaica, it is known for its intense flavor.

To produce it, ancient techniques are used, handed down from generation to generation.

Use of own spring water in the different production phases.

Prolonged fermentation and with the use of wild yeasts.

Distillation exclusively in pot still.

The production follows techniques in use since the 18th century which determine a high value of esters and which give the product a unique aromatic profile.

Tropical aging; both references distributed by Velier have aged more than 7 years in Jamaica, which is equivalent to an aging of approximately 25 years in Europe.

Natural color and no added sugar in the rum.

Tasting Notes:

Color: amber with amaranth shades.

Aromas: Incredibly balsamic with fruity notes, delicately spiced, accompanied by hints of chocolate and cooked apple juice, it is a rum with a very long finish, ideal for single tasting.

The evolution of perfumes in the glass is continuous, it will amaze you.

Taste: Very powerful the sip is full, rich, structured. Long finish with notes of burnt caramel, spices and chocolate.

Finish: long, mentholated, rich, honey.
