Kilkerran 8 y.o. sherry cask limited edition Vol.57,5% Cl.70

Limited edition of Kilkerran peaty single malt aged in ex sherry fortified wine barrels and bottled at full grade.

Kilkerran is the small Campbeltown distillery, Springbank's “cousin”.

The two distilleries border and are owned by the same owner, Hedley Wright, currently Glengyle uses both the malting floor and the Spingbank bottling plants for the production of Kilkerran, the stills instead are owned.

This 8 year old Kilkerran barrel aged ex sherry is a limited edition for the Beija-flor importer.

A very rare bottle of whiskey.

Distilled with pot stills, it is the final result of a series of previous products called Work in Progress, which testified to the work carried out in the distillery for its reopening.

The Glengyle Distillery reopened in 2004 after closing in 1925.

The first spirits were placed in small barrels previously used for liqueur or bourbon wines.

Kilkerran sherry cask 8 years, produced with double distillation, is slightly peaty and is a single malt aged eight years in the first fill ex sherry cask.

The 8 year old Kilkerran sherry bottling is exclusive to whiskey collectors.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Golden amber.

Aroma: We welcome light notes of peat that mix with notes of malt, raisins, cocoa and a light marine touch.

Taste: On the palate the notes of red fruit emerge with orange, raisins and tropical fruit, then cinnamon and mineral hints.

Final: Medium persistence with notes of licorice, cinnamon and a touch of wood with an aftertaste of earthy peat.

Whiskey Kilkerran Single Malt 8 years can be combined with a good Nicaraguan cigar such as L'Aroma de Caribe Mi Amor or a balanced Davidoff.

However, given the very few bottles produced, now all exhausted, we advise you not to open it but to put it back in the safe.
