GlenAllachie's 15-year-old single malt Scotch whiskey, released in mid-2018 after Billy Walker took over the distillery in 2017.
This expression features whiskey matured in ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry oak casks, resulting in a huge flavor profile of fruit, oak and vanilla and chocolate.
The GlenAllachie distillery was born in the thirties in the verdant Scottish valley of Speyside, whose ownership has been handed down from father to son making it, to this day, an independent reality much loved by whiskey fans.
So much so that the GlenAllachie distillery is pointed out as the future legendary distillery of the 21st century on a par with and in competition with Springbank.
The name GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic "gleann aileachaidh" and can be translated as the "valley of the rocks". Despite its young age (it was founded in 1967) and some periods in "mothballs" the distillery has a base of 40 thousand barrels, barrels that have been carefully selected for the production of this single malt aged 15 years.
A peculiarity to distill GlenAllachie whiskeys and no pumps are used to avoid traumatizing the fermented and the distillate!
The GlenAllachie 15 Years Old is the basic release of the new distillery, each barrel that composes it has been selected by Billy Walker and has aged for at least 15 years, the mix is made up of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry casks.
The result is a whiskey with a sweet and fruity profile and perfect hints of chocolate.
