The Glenallachie distillery was founded in the 1930s in the verdant Scottish valley of Speyside. Its ownership has been passed down from father to son, making it, today, an independent business much loved by whisky fans.

So much so that the Glenallachie distillery is being hailed as the future legendary distillery of the 21st century, on par with and competing with Springbank in Campbeltown.

The name Glenallachie derives from the Gaelic "gleann aileachaidh" and can be translated as "valley of the rocks." Despite its young age (founded in 1967) and some periods of mothballs, the distillery boasts a base of 40,000 casks, carefully selected for the production of this 9-year-old single malt.

Under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker, this distillery is synonymous with creative cask maturation and the highest quality.

A special feature of GlenAllachie whiskies is that pumps are not used to avoid damaging the fermented product and the distillate!

The GlenAllachie 9 Years Old Douro Valley Wine Cask Finish is the new distillery's base release; each cask has been selected by Billy Walker and aged for at least 9 years.

The result is a whisky with a sweet, fruity profile.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Dark reddish copper.

Aroma: Initial notes of cinnamon, black pepper, raisins, and hazelnut with hints of honey and barley.

Flavor: On the palate, notes of cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, raisins, and red fruits are evident.

Finish: Medium length, with a pleasant sweetness, with notes of brown sugar, coffee, barley malt, and cocoa powder.
