The Spey "Fumare" which derives from Latin (Fumare means smoky / smoked) is a tribute to Lord Byron, a lover of the Latin language, and who is said to have given a bottle of Spey to none other than King George III.

Unknown to the general public yet single malt peated SPEY, a favorite of British royalty for two hundred years, is the only single malt whiskey designated by the UK's six royal palaces.

The dedication and long-term protection of the traditional craft of beer have allowed SPEY to win two centuries of friendship with the royal family.

The single malt Spey "Fumare" Peated is presented in its tall and slender bottle perfect to be given to passionate collectors of peaty Scottish whiskeys.

A limited edition bottling of SPEY "Fumare" Peated single malt Scotch whiskey released in early 2019.

This release was made from ex bourbon barrels and was bottled at 46% alcohol.

18,000 bottles were produced.

Spey "Smoking" Peated 12 Year Old is a balanced fruity whiskey with hints of pear, berry and peat.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Straw yellow.

Aroma: The nose welcomes us with beautiful notes of earth peat integrated with notes of vanilla, spicy wood, a hint of honey and peach.

Taste: On the palate it is slightly spicy with spicy notes on the shields (ginger) then fruity notes of apple and toasted dried fruit with hints of vanilla and peat smoke.

Final: Of medium persistence, slightly dry with notes of cereals, vanilla and honey with peat smoke at the end.
