Gheppo Italian pipes by Danilo Zunino is a beautiful and interesting new reality in the world of Italian handmade High grade pipes.
Danilo di Gheppo Pipes was born as an IBES barman who passionate pipe smoker is involved fascinated by sculpting, by creating his own perfect pipe.
His technique as a pipe maker is already consolidated when he turns to Romeo "Mimmo" Domenico to deepen his knowledge and buy High grade ridicas.
The meeting with the volcanic Romeo "Mimmo" Domenico conquers him, and Danilo becomes apprentice sawing (the one who cuts the briar) from Romeo Briar to Taggia.
The internship is long but Danilo Zunino falls in love with the briar and improves year by year.
Danilo di Gheppo Pipes continues to cut the briar at the highest level and together with the cut, Danilo has developed as a pipe maker under the guidance of the master Mimmo.
By understanding the cut of the briar, Danilo is able to use the grain in a way shared only by Mimmo Romeo.
But alongside the aesthetics, and the forms inspired by the works of the master Ingo Garbe, a refined technique is refined.
The holes in the pipe are made by hand, with extreme precision and machined mouthpieces, so as to facilitate the passage of smoke and reduce water condensation.
Gheppo pipes, made personally and exclusively by hand, are the result of a long and patient process.
All Danilo pipes are natural without stain or color.
The beauty of the natural grain and briar color is visible in each of his pipes.
The production is very small, maximum 30 extraordinary pipes per year.
