Tomintoul single malt whiskey 14 years made from the "gentle whiskey" this expression of Tomintoul stands out for being the first of the declared aging not only at a considerable alcohol content, but also natural: no cold filtration and no colorings.
The Tomintoul 14 Years Single Malt Whiskey is produced in Scotland, in the Speyside region, by the Tomintoul Distillery.
The Tomintoul single malt is aged for 14 years in ex bourbon casks.
This 14 year old was bottled with a higher alcohol strength than previous Tomintoul releases.
This helped bring out more of the flavor and character of the shot glass.
Tasting notes
Light gold with amber reflections in the glass.
Fruity and floral on the nose, with a clear charge of spiciness (cinnamon and ginger) which reinforces the aromas of peaches, apricots, stewed apple, vanilla, honey and marzipan. Lemon zest. It maintains the flagship title of gentle dram, but with greater depth and intensity.
It is still the fruit that dominates the palate, accompanied by a more decisive push of the spices, with a tropical contribution (mango and pineapple) and a greater presence of apples. Malt and cereals are present alongside the sweet tones of the nose, adding softness and roundness to a profile that remains rather simple but captivating, also thanks to a herbaceous and almost balsamic freshness in the background. Lengthwise dryness of the wood.
Medium length finish, rather dry and herbaceous, of cereals, spices, fruit (also dried), honey.
