The story behind this Whiskey Tomatin Cù Bòcan comes from the legend of a ghostly dog, Cù Bòcan, who has haunted the Highland village for countless years.

The legend tells....

The ghostly dog was once seen by a distillery worker who, after initially trying to escape, felt compelled to touch the dog's fur.

As he reached out his hand, the dog dissipated in a ghostly plume of smoke over the moors...

For one week each year, the Tomatin distillery makes a peaty, lightly smoky whisky.

This 2022 spectral edition has been repeated at 15ppm and aged 15 years in ex oloroso Cask sherry.

Slightly peated – Whiskey Tomatin Cu' Bòcan 15 years light smoke 15 ppm – is totally aged in ex sherry cask.

Whiskey Tomatin Cu' Bòcan Signature light smoke is not cold filtered and bottled at 50% alcohol, 3000 bottles produced.

Tasting notes:

Red.

Aroma: Initial impact with chocolate and cherries, the smoke emerges soon after, but weak.

Palate: Initially light as a feather followed by a honeyed smoke and roasted almonds complemented by chocolate and caramel notes. Rich in spices, cloves, cinnamon and star anise. Caffellatte with chocolate flakes.

Finish: Light with a hint of sweet smoke....

Whiskey Tomatin Cu' Bòcan Signature light smoke is to be combined with a good Dominican cigar like Arturo Fuente.
