Springbank PX sherry wood pedro Ximenez cask 10 Y.O. Vol.55% Cl.70

After the success of the Springbank sherry wood whiskey, the Springbank distillery releases the Springbank PX 10-year aging version in 2022.

A limited edition Springbank single malt aged in second-use Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for 10 years and selected by Frank McHardy and Stuart Robertson.

This one is less sweet and has more soot and salty notes than the first batch.

A triumph, once again.

Distilled in July 2012, few bottles were produced, only 10,800 in the world.

Bottled at 55% natural grade this Springbank PX has been aged for 10 years and carefully selected to produce the 2022 special release.

The result is a unique, incredible, refined product.

Tasting notes

Perfume: Notes of chocolate some pleasant sea characteristics of brine, immediately followed by notes of apricots in syrup, jams.

After a few minutes some nice notes of butter and caramel. Complex and seductive. A drop of water releases some greasiness and more citrus aromas.

Palate: A hint of charcoal, smoky notes with more evident sherry notes.

Finish: Malty, impressive length, with the reaffirmation of the hints of smoke between notes of oriental spices.
