An amazing single cask selected by Billy Walker, distilled in GlenAllachie in 2006 and aged in a single ex-Oloroso oak cask.

Having 50,000 barrels resting in the 16 warehouses of the distillery at your disposal, choosing a cask might seem easy but in reality it is not.

Because each release must be bottled at the right time, when the cask has released all its best aromas and before the distillate is attacked by the wood, for this reason whoever makes these selections must have a superfine nose and palate.

GlenAllachie 16 Years Old Batch #5 is a single malt Scotch whiskey distilled on April 14, 2006 and aged for 16 years in a single Oloroso puncheon ex-sherry cask (#1408).

This whiskey was finally bottled in August 2022 at its natural degree (59.8% vol.) without adding colorants and without being cold filtered in 699 individually numbered bottles.

This is a very rare and valuable GlenAllachie version of single malt to collect.

Tasting notes:

Color: Dark, dark amber.

Aromas: The aromas that reach the nose are first fruity with red apples, then sweet milk chocolate.

Taste: aromas of cereals emerge in the tasting, followed by nuances of spices and orange marmalade, with a slight note of smoke.

Finish: It has a balanced finish, sweet and velvety, smoky, the influence of the aging in sherry casks is felt.
