The GlenAllachie 2009 15 Years Old PX Hogshead single malt whisky is one of the most aromatic and delicious single malts ever produced by the distillery.

A single malt aged in a single Pedro Ximénez Hogshead ex-sherry cask, a smaller and therefore more flavorful single cask selected by Billy Walker, distilled at GlenAllachie in 2009.

GlenAllachie's "Single Cask" series, now in its fifth edition, contains all premium releases from the Speyside distillery and is considered a benchmark for excellence in flavor and aroma.

This release in particular demonstrates GlenAllachie's passion and search for the finest casks from around the world, landing in Spain for a Pedro Ximénez ex-sherry cask.

GlenAllachie 15 Years Old PX Hogshead is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled on June 6, 2009, and aged for 15 years in a single Pedro Ximénez Hogshead ex-sherry cask (#440).

The Hogshead cask is smaller than usual and imparts aromas of chocolate and candied cherries to the excellent Glenallachie distillate.

This whisky was finally bottled in January 2025 at its natural strength (54.5% ABV) without added colorants and without chill-filtering in 360 individually numbered bottles.

This is a very rare and valuable version of the Glenallachie single malt, a true collector's item.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Copper with brown highlights

Aromas: On the nose, notes of walnuts, honey, marzipan, orange peel, apricot, and apple with a light hint of toasted oak.

Taste: On the palate, notes of raisins, blackberry, black pepper, nutmeg, honey, and coffee.

Finish: The finish is long, warm, and spicy, with notes of orange peel, cinnamon, raisins, blackberries, and honey.
