Finally available the new 2023 bottlings of the "Hearts Collection" series are two 100% Pot Still rums selected from the very rich cellars of the Appleton Estate distillery, the oldest rum distillery in Jamaica.

The Appleton Hearts Collection 2002 distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2022, was produced in 5700 bottles.

20 years of aging under the tropical sun.

Hearts Collection 2002, Casks 404082 to 404101 has a congener content of 834 g/100 LAA;

notes of orange blossom and molasses, vanilla, coffee and caramel are found, with a rich and soft taste of honey on the palate.

To our knowledge, it showcases the exceptional quality of the rums resting at Appleton within American oak casks, perfect for enhancing the distillery's funky character.

Appleton Estate Hearts Collection, a limited edition range of three 100% pot still single marks selected by Luca Gargano and Appleton Estate's legendary Master Blender, Joy Spence.

The Hearts Collection is made up of unique vintages that embody the excellence of the Appleton Estate.

The Appleton Estate Hearts Collection 2002 rum comes from distillations in a Forsyth Pot Still and is aged for 20 years.

The Appleton Estate Hearts Collection represents a world first: the rums that make up this exclusive series are in fact the first single marks rum, 100% pot still and vintage, that Appleton Estate has ever released in the course of its history.

The Hearts Collection owes its name to three reasons:

1) is composed of rums obtained from a 100% pot still distillation which, by cutting off the heads and tails, keeps only the heart of the distillate.

2) Appleton Estate rums are born in the heart of Jamaica

3) the heart is the symbol that Joy Spence drew on the sample that she left to Luca Gargano di Velier, after meeting him in Jamaica.

The heart is also the emblem of the passion shared by Joy Spence and Luca Gargano. And it was precisely from their meeting that this range took shape and became a reality.

For the 2022 Hearts Collection, Joy initially chose 20 barrels of rum of different vintages, among the nearly 200,000 agings present at the Appleton Estate.

Appleton's barrels, ground for aging are one of the largest pot still rum stocks in the world.

During a trip to Jamaica, Luca and Joy met at the distillery and conducted a blind tasting together.

Both, alone around the table, selected the same three rums as their favourites.

And these three rums have become the protagonists of the Hearts Collection.
