A tobacco pipe produced by Peterson for the new Newgrange line featuring a silver spigot and sandblasted briar.
The Peterson Newgrange Spigot line pairs a number of the most popular shapes with midnight sandblasts and smooth dark oak hoops, along with cumberland patterned acrylic stems and the finest sterling silver spigot holders.
Made of sandblasted dark briar, it has a straight Billiard shape called 120 with a 925 silver spigot that stands out and makes this pipe unique.
The Peterson 120 shape combines the classic straight Billiard shape with a medium-length, robust shank embellished by the large Peterson Dublin marked ferrule.
The Irishman Charles Peterson began producing briar pipes and in 1890 discovered the famous reservoir system.
It is a tank in the torch under the head which has the task of keeping the tobacco dry.
All the humidity – this is the goal – is channeled into the tank.
Peterson's pipes, made personally and exclusively by hand, are the result of a long and patient process at the headquarters in the south of Dublin, where one of the oldest pipe factories in the world is located: the Peterson of Dublin.
Characteristic of Peterson's pipes is the classic, harmonious shape, elegance and practicality.
They are carved in the most selected and precious briar.
The briar sandblasting process is very particular, deep, English style, it transforms the external texture of the briar pipe into a skin.
Note in this model the elegance generated by the combination of the dark rusticated briar and the silver ring which enhances the whole body of the pipe.
The external finish may vary slightly from the image as each Peterson briar pipe is a unique piece.
The variations are intended only in the nuances of the briar, the measurements and the shape do not vary.
