Old Perth pedro Ximenez casks limited edition Vol.56,2% Cl.70

This limited edition blended malt Scotch whiskey from Old Perth showcases Pedro Ximénez sherry aged whiskies.

The first in an annual series of limited editions of the Old Perth range from Morrison Distillers: Old Perth Pedro Ximenez. As with all of the Old Perth range, this whiskey is fully matured in PX sherry casks.

This Limited Edition takes its name from the luxurious southern Spanish grape (Pedro Ximenez), harvested very ripe or sun-dried to concentrate the sugar and natural acidity of the wine.

Maturation in a combination of Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogsheads and Butts has resulted in a flavorful whiskey with a velvety texture.

  Bottled at 56.2% and limited to 800 bottles, expect rich notes of stewed fruit, sherry-soaked prunes and dark chocolate on the palate.

Lots of dried fruit and sticky sweet spices here, with the whiskey bottled in without cold filtration or added colour.

The name Old Perth is linked to Scotland and the town of the same name, it is in fact Peter Thomson who in 1908 creates the blend that will become famous.

Today the brand has been purchased by one of Scotland's most appreciated master distillers, Billy Walker, who, as usual, has managed to revive Old Perth with high quality bottlings, we can perhaps go overboard by saying that these releases are even more good than the original.
