GlenAllachie 7 Y.o. Virgin Hungarian Oak finish Vol.48% Cl.70

The GleAllachie 7 years of the "Virgin Oak" series is the youngest but high quality single malt from the Scottish distillery, entirely aged in new Hungarian oak barrels.

The "Virgin oak whiskey Glenallachie" series is a small limited edition, born from the selection of the best oak barrels from all over Europe.

GlenAllachie 7-year-old "Virgin Hungarian oak finish" single malt Scotch whisky, released in mid-2023 after Billy Walker took over the distillery in 2017 and began his Glenallachie whiskey refinement experiments.

This new single malt series features whiskey matured in virgin Hungarian oak casks, resulting in a huge, ethereal, elegant flavor profile.

The GlenAllachie distillery was born in the thirties in the verdant Scottish valley of Speyside, whose ownership has been handed down from father to son making it, to this day, an independent reality much loved by Whiskey fans.

So much so that the GlenAllachie distillery is being held up as the future legendary distillery of the 21st century on a par with and in competition with Springbank.

The name GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic "gleann aileachaidh" and can be translated as the "valley of the rocks". Despite its young age (it was founded in 1967) and some periods in "mothballs", the distillery has a base of 40,000 barrels, barrels that have been carefully selected for the production of this single malt.

A peculiarity to distill GlenAllachie whiskeys are not used pumps so as not to traumatize the fermented and the distillate!

The GlenAllachie 7 Years Old Hungarian oak finish is a limited edition of the new distillery.

This rich bronze malt gets its silky tannins, sweet spice and fruit notes from oak casks (Quercus Robur) usually used for tokaj wine.

The fine grained and textured wood is air dried for 15 months before housing the GlenAllachie spirit.

The result is a delicious, delicate, ethereal and elegant Single Malt.

Tasting Notes:

Color: From light amber color.

Perfumes: Delicate accent of white flowers on the nose. Sweet aroma, scented with pear and dried fruit.

Taste: Strong attack on the palate. Soft and round.

Slightly spicy finish. Long, with hints of white oak and a sensation of sweetness.
