Jefferson is considered the best artisan herbal amaro in Italy and in the world.
A real champion who was awarded the prize for best herbal liqueur in the world in the 2018 edition of the World's Drink Awards, the prestigious international stage where the best of world beverages compete.
The Jefferson amaro comes from Calabria and was born from an ancient recipe created in 1871 by a singular and fascinating character, Captain Jefferson, who survived the shipwreck in the waters between Paola and Tropea and found refuge in the Vecchio Magazzino Doganale, where he had his enlightenment: the use of a mix of botanical herbs and spices from that land to give life to the recipe of a unique and natural amaro.
Vigorous aroma with citrus notes, pleasant bitterness, herbs and perfumes; taste: the palate follows the citrus and herbaceous notes of the nose; elegant and delicate fianle.
Jefferson was born in Calabria, in a land that offers unique fruits and herbs in the world. The Vecchio Magazzino Doganale selects and hand-picks most of the botanicals used, including IGP lemons from Rocca Imperiale, sweet and bitter Bisignano oranges from the family garden, bergamots from Pellaro, oregano from Palombara and rosemary from Bisignano.
Everything is processed separately, in hydroalcoholic infusion respecting the raw material and seasonality, for this reason Jefferson takes more than 11 months to assemble, without ever resorting to artificial flavors or dyes, a linen cloth is the instrument used for filtering.
The freshness of the raw material, harvested in bloom and processed as it once was, translates into the high quality of Amaro Jefferson, whose Mediterranean taste can be appreciated at room temperature or cold, but also when mixed for the preparation of original cocktails.
