Zacapa presents a limited edition blend of rums aged from 6 to 24 years, personally selected by master blender Lorena Vasquez.

Reserve a limited 2014 is a surprising rum even for the most demanding connoisseurs, a unique blend obtained by selecting varieties of Rum reserves with different characteristics and aging, between 6 and 24 years.

Using the Solera system they slowly aged the rum in a series of casks that previously held American whiskey and Pedro Ximenez ex-sherry casks.

Finally master Blender Lorena Vasquez, finishes the refinement of the rum for the second time in ex sherry barrels and in American white oak barrels which gives it a unique taste and aroma.

This second aging takes place under the sun in the spice garden of the Guatemalan distillery, at altitude, outdoors with strong temperature variations

Zacapa Riserva limited to 2014 stands out for its intense mahogany color, great complexity and softness of taste.

Tasting Notes:

Perfumes: On the nose it appears decided, almost angular.

Taste: On the palate there is immediately the pseudo caloric sensation transmitted by the alcohol which invades the palate to give way to a first sweet sensation up to harder notes of wood and licorice.

Overall it is a very balanced rum in the finish the bouquets widen to sweet night of cream and liqueur wine, mixed with tobacco and bitter notes of rhubarb.

Still you can perceive dried fruit, brown sugar and chocolate for a pleasant finish.
