The Bowmore 25 year old small batch release is one of the offspring of the town of Bowmore, considered the capital of the island of Islay.

Here, on the banks of Loch Indaal, the Scottish distillery was built in 1779.

One of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, exposed to the salty winds coming from the Atlantic.

It is the proximity to the sea, the aging warehouses lapped by the waves and even below sea level, that determine the characteristics of Bowmore whiskies.

The malting is carried out, for part of the requirement, directly in the Bowmore distillery with a measured quantity of peat, while the water comes from the Laggan river.

The Bowmore distillery is equipped with four stills, two for each distillation.

The Bowmore 25 year old small batch release is produced using water from the River Laggan, for over 2000 years the river has flowed down from the hills containing the characteristic Islay peat, the same peat that is used as fuel in the kiln to dry the malt.

Peat, water, wood, men and tradition come together to create the refined, welcoming and smoky character of Bowmore 25 years old small batch release.

Perfumes: Bowmore 25 years old small batch release presents itself to the nose with an unmistakable aroma characterized by the smoky peat of the classic Bowmore mixed with a riot of sweet sherry aromas and hints of hazelnuts and toffee.

Taste: On the palate Bowmore 25 year old small batch release initially has flavors of sherry and chocolate followed by a balanced smoke flavor with a salty note.

Bowmore 25 is a great whisky, very full-bodied in the mouth and persistent with an excellent evolution of aromas.
