Beenleigh 2006 Australian Rum is an extraordinary product aged 15 years in a combination of three different barrels.

Among the barrels used there is the historic barrel built with Kauri pine wood over 120 years old.

The Beenleigh 2006 rum tropical aging is the version aged in a tropical environment of the rum from the Australian distillery.

Aged for 15 years in a mix of barrels: ex brandy barrels were used, then first fill ex bourbon barrels and finally the Kauri pine barrel.

The long and complicated aging took place at the distillery's headquarters in Queensland.

Founded in 1884, Beenleigh Rum Distillery is Australia's oldest still operating distillery.

Created on the banks of the Albert River in Eagleby, Queensland, the rum is still produced in small batches, the traditional way.

Australia is the largest and best sugar producer in the world, the molasses generated creates excellent English style rums.

For its fermentation the best local molasses are used, which come from the last family-run sugar factory in the country and others in the Queensland area.

But the Australian territory is not only the source of the raw material, molasses... with its extension and its particular climatic zones it allows different forms of aging.

The Beenleigh distillery was a pioneer of aging in different climatic zones, from subantarctic Tasmania, to the hot and humid forests of Queensland up to the red, arid and desert areas of the Australian Bush.

The Beenleigh 2006 Tropical Aging version of the rum was distilled in Single Column and Pot Styles, then aged successively in different barrels.

The aromas of this single barrel rum evolve continuously in the glass, while in the mouth it expresses its full-bodied and soft character, with the addition of a balsamic note due to the use of the Kauri pine barrel.
