Abuelo Three Angels is a 12 year old Panamanian rum that has benefited from double maturation to enrich its aromatic palette.

This cuvée is designed like Abuelo 12 años Two Oaks, but with a difference.

After many years of attempts by the master blenders of the Panamanian distillery, an amazing rum was born.

Like “Two Oaks,” it also benefited from maturation in charred oak barrels that underwent extreme toasting.

Behind Abuelo 12 year Three Angels rum lies the family business Varela Hermanos.

Now in its third generation, it is the largest producer of branded spirits in Panama and one of the most important rum producers in Central America.

The multiplicity of Panama.

The Varela Hermanos distillery has managed, with over a century of tradition and experience, to combine the multiplicity of Panama in an aged rum.

Abuelo 12 year Three Angels is a traditional rum aged with the vintage pallet method in succession in two separate American oak barrels.

Abuelo 12 year Three Angels first, is matured in ex-bourbon oak barrels, the aging is then finished in extra-charred virgin oak barrels.

The maturation of Abuelo 12 year Three Angels rum plays a fundamental role and takes place not only in old bourbon barrels, but also new barrels which give an extra edge to this rum.

However, these latter barrels were specially stored in the upper part of the cellar, just under the roof, while the "Two Oaks" were a mixture of barrels from different parts of the cellar.

In the upper part of the cellar, the temperature reaches 35°C and the percentage of angels reaches 15% per year. It is from this disk of angels that this cuvée takes its name "Three Angels".

The result is Abuelo 12 year Three Angels rum, one of the most delicious and enjoyable Anejo rums, it will certainly become part of the best rums in the world.

Tasting Notes:

Color: Ron Abuelo 12 Year Three Angels is a golden amber color.

Perfumes: On the nose there are intense floral components, touched by a delicate sweetness and made perfect by vanilla and caramel, hints of dark chocolate.
