Arran Master Distiller, James MacTaggart, carefully monitored this single malt throughout its finishing, to ensure the perfect balance between Arran's classic sweet-fruitiness and sherry qualities.
The mix of barrels used, first and second fill Sherry Hogsheads and first fill Bourbon Barrels, created a very tasty Arran single malt, balanced but full-bodied and long-lasting in the mouth.
The result is a balanced whiskey with notes of sweet and fruity chocolate and vanilla with the classic Arran style.
Whiskey Arran 17 years limited edition on the nose it is initially sweet with notes of red fruit, vanilla and toffee, continuing it becomes deeper with notes of caramelized cooked fruit.
On the palate, Arran 17 year old whiskey starts fresh but soon turns into notes of warm toffee, apples and hazelnuts with hints of milk chocolate and spiced biscuits.
The finish is medium persistent with notes of cinnamon, liquorice and pineapple.

Tasting notes:
Aroma: very intense, with notes of red fruit, blueberries, spices, vanilla and raisins in syrup.
Palate: More fruit, lots of spices, cinnamon, black pepper, buttery shortbread. Fresh and balanced.
Finish: panforte, blueberry jam, licorice.
